Job summary

Raubex Building Cape in Cape Town, Western Cape, is seeking a motivated Safety Officer to join our team. The role starts immediately with a 3-month probation. You will report to the Safety Manager and work closely with Site Management to ensure health and safety compliance across the site.

Ideal candidate holds SAMTRAC / Safety management Diploma / NEBOSH, CHSO SACPCMP registration, and 5–10 years of construction safety experience, with strong Excel skills and OHSA knowledge.

Qualifications

• SAMTRAC / Safety management Diploma / NEBOSH are required.
• CHSO SACPCMP Registration (CHSO) is required.
• 5-10 years of construction safety experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• OHSA knowledge and compliance experience is essential.
• Flexibility to work weekends when required.
• Driver’s license (code 8) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Edit, review and implement safety policies, plans and procedures.
• Coordinate and participate in incident investigations.
• Conduct emergency response drills to ensure preparedness.
• Provide detailed audit reports with findings and corrective actions.
• Edit and implement group safety campaigns on site.
• Conduct site-specific risk assessments.
• Advise site team on safety metrics and trends.
• Submit monthly reports to safety manager and site manager.
• Report incidents and near-misses to the Group HSE system.
• Organise and coordinate SHE committee and safety meetings.

INTRODUCTION

Raubex Building Cape is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Safety Officer to join our exciting team, based in Cape Town, Western Cape to start immediately. This position has a 3-month probation period, and the candidate must be able to start as soon as possible. You will be reporting to the Safety Manager and working closely with the Site Management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring health and safety compliance across the site.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• SAMTRAC /Safety management Diploma/NEBOSH
• Certified as a Safety Officer (CHSO) SACPCMP Registration (CHSO)
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience
• Extensive Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• HIRA/Incident investigation/first aid certificates will be advantageous.
• Strong background in construction safety and OHSA compliance
• Flexibility to work weekends when required
• Driver’s License (code 8)

JOB SPECIFICATION:
