Job summary

Freerecruit is seeking a Retail Store Supervisor for Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will lead a team of sales associates, oversee daily store operations, and drive customer service excellence to meet sales targets.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and hands-on involvement in stock, merchandising, and staff training. You will support the Store Manager and contribute to a positive, high-performance store environment in this busy retail location.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of retail operations and sales techniques.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer literacy.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• A positive attitude and a passion for the retail industry.
• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of retail sales associates, providing direction and support.
• Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure that sales targets are met and that customer service standards are consistently high.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with merchandising, and maintain store presentation standards.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
