Job summary

Clicks Group in Sandton City is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in delivering sales growth and exceptional service. You will lead the store team, manage promotions, stock, and merchandising while ensuring compliance and customer loyalty.

The role requires at least 1 year in an assistant store management position in retail/FMCG and knowledge of financial management. This is a permanent, full-time role with an EE-positive policy.

Qualifications

• Essential: Grade 12 (Maths 50% and English 50%).
• Desirable: Degree in Relevant Retail/Business Management.
• Minimum 1 year experience as an assistant store manager in retail/FMCG operations or completion of Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
• Financial management experience (budgets, P&L, ratios)

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in ensuring efficient store operation and service excellence to meet sales, profit and compliance targets.
• Drive sales through promotions, cross-selling and up-selling while delivering superior customer service.
• Oversee stock management, expenses, shrinkage, housekeeping and administration.
• Lead in-store visual merchandising to maintain brand standards and presentation.
• Motivate and direct staff, manage scheduling and staffing in line with labour policies.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive club card participation targets.
• Handle weekly time and attendance and HR records efficiently.
