Job summary

Libstar in Wes-Kaap seeks an experienced retail supervisor to lead daily store operations and drive sales targets. You will manage staff, ensure accurate stock management, and deliver excellent customer service to sustain product availability.

The role requires at least 5 years in retail with 2 years in supervision, plus strong leadership and communication skills. Overtime and weekends may be required to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years retail experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in retail.
• Experience with stock control, cash handling and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support achievement of sales and profitability targets.
• Monitor daily sales performance and escalate concerns to the Factory Shop Manager.
• Ensure prices, promotions and markdowns are implemented correctly.
• Assist merchandising, displays and product presentation.
• Monitor short-dated stock and help minimise losses.
• Promote loyalty through excellent service and product availability.
• Supervise daily store operations during shifts.
• Ensure shop opens/closes safely and per procedures.
• Allocate tasks and monitor staff performance.
• Maintain housekeeping, shelf presentation and store cleanliness.
• Manage customer queries and complaints promptly.
• Escalate operational issues to the Factory Shop Manager.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Assist with ordering and stock takes as delegated.
• Verify deliveries, transfers and stock movements.
• Handle daily cash-up procedures and till reconciliations.
• Investigate and report cash discrepancies.
• Ensure adherence to refund, void and discount procedures.
• Document transactions and maintain filing systems.
• Lead and motivate employees; provide coaching and training.
• Communicate daily targets and operational updates.
