Job summary

Profile Personnel presents an opportunity for a seasoned Restaurant Manager at a well-established upmarket restaurant in South Africa on a fixed-term basis. You will oversee daily operations, lead staff, and ensure excellent guest service in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling, cash-ups, basic bookkeeping, POS management, stock control and supplier orders, plus strict adherence to health and safety standards to maintain high operational quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in restaurant management.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations and staff management.
• Experience with bookkeeping and basic financial administration.
• Knowledge of daily sales reporting, cash-ups and financial controls.
• Experience using restaurant POS systems.
• Stock control and supplier management experience.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene regulations will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Lead, supervise and support restaurant staff.
• Manage staff scheduling and ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Monitor daily sales, cash-ups and financial records.
• Perform basic bookkeeping and financial administration.
• Operate and manage restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Control stock levels, inventory and supplier orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally resolve customer queries and complaints.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain high operational standards and a positive customer experience.
