Placements24 in Soweto is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to lead end-to-end solar and wind projects on site.

You will plan, budget, coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders, monitor progress, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance to deliver value to the community. This full-time role requires a strong PM track record in renewables and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, Business).
• Minimum 4 years of project management experience in renewables (solar or wind preferred).
• Proven ability to deliver projects from initiation to completion.
• Knowledge of PMI or Agile project management methodologies.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with permitting, construction practices, and safety/regulatory requirements.
• Willingness to be based in Soweto or relocate and work on-site.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing player in the Energy sector, is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to join their team in Soweto . This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Soweto operations. You will be responsible for managing all phases of renewable energy projects, from inception through to commissioning and handover. This includes planning, execution, budget management, stakeholder coordination, and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in project management within the renewable energy domain, excellent leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of solar and/or wind energy projects. You will be pivotal in delivering successful renewable energy solutions to the community and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy projects (e.g., solar PV, small wind).
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Manage project execution, monitoring progress, and identifying/resolving issues and risks.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, construction) and external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors, authorities).
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance.
• Conduct site visits and progress assessments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate project status effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
• Facilitate project close-out activities, including documentation and handover.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion in the renewable energy sector (solar or wind preferred).
• Proven ability to manage projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile).
