Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field.
• MBA or related postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 6 years in business development or sales within the energy sector.
• Proven track record of closing significant deals.
• In-depth knowledge of SA renewable energy markets and regulations.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel across SA and internationally if required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the renewable energy sector across various technologies (solar, wind, etc.).
• Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales and business growth objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, government agencies, and industry influencers.
• Lead the negotiation and finalization of contracts, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and other commercial agreements.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
• Prepare compelling business proposals, presentations, and financial models to support new ventures.
• Collaborate with technical and project development teams to ensure project feasibility and alignment with business goals.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
• Monitor market developments and adapt business development strategies accordingly.
