Job summary

Placements24 is seeking enthusiastic Youth Mentors and Program Facilitators for Soweto-based initiatives. This fully remote role focuses on guiding young people through mentorship and running engaging workshops to support personal and academic growth.

You will design life-skills sessions, monitor progress, build trusting relationships, and collaborate with program coordinators to ensure effective delivery and participant engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth work, mentorship, teaching, counseling, or related field.
• Ability to connect with and inspire young people.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of adolescent development and challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized mentorship and guidance to young people in Soweto.
• Design and facilitate engaging workshops on life skills, career exploration, and personal development.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with program participants.
• Monitor youth progress and provide support to address challenges and celebrate achievements.
• Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure effective program delivery and participant engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions, workshop attendance, and participant feedback.
• Act as a positive role model, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and respect.
• Assist in planning and execution of program events and activities.
• Stay informed about youth development best practices and relevant resources.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and other stakeholders as appropriate.
