Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch seeks a Youth Mentor and Program Facilitator to guide and support youths aged 13-18 through life skills and personal development programs. The role supports learners in a remote or hybrid setting within the Western Cape.

The candidate will deliver engaging workshops, provide one-on-one mentoring, and adapt content to diverse needs while fostering belonging and self-worth in participants.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth work, education, counseling, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and challenges faced by young people.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using online collaboration tools for remote program delivery.
• A positive attitude and a passion for mentoring and empowering youth in Stellenbosch.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate interactive workshops and activities focused on life skills, career exploration, and personal growth for youth.
• Provide one-on-one mentorship and guidance to young individuals, addressing their challenges and aspirations.
• Develop and adapt program content to meet the diverse needs of participants aged 13-18.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all program attendees, both online and in person.
• Collaborate with program coordinators to track participant progress and gather feedback for program improvement.
• Engage with parents and guardians to foster a supportive ecosystem around the youth.
