Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an inspiring and dedicated Remote Youth Mentor and Support Officer to connect with and guide young people in the Paarl community. This fully remote role focuses on positive role modeling, emotional support, and practical guidance to youth facing developmental and social challenges.

You will use digital platforms to build trusting relationships, help youths set goals, develop life skills, and navigate personal obstacles.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth work, mentoring, counseling, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to connect with and positively influence young people.

Responsibilities

• Engage with youth through virtual channels, providing mentorship and emotional support.
• Assist young people in identifying personal goals and developing action plans for academic, social, and personal development.
• Facilitate virtual workshops on topics such as life skills, career readiness, and positive decision-making.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact, offering guidance and support during challenging times.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, and educational institutions (where appropriate) to support youth well-being.
• Maintain confidential records of interactions and progress, ensuring client privacy.
