Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Residential Care Manager to oversee youth residential services. The role is fully remote with oversight potentially connected to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, requiring strong leadership and regulatory compliance.

You will lead a team of residential care workers, develop care plans, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality care while managing budgets and collaborating with external agencies and families to coordinate support for residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in residential care or youth services, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and adolescent behaviour.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience using virtual collaboration tools and management software.
• Knowledge of South Africa youth residential care regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of residential care facilities for youth.
• Lead, supervise, and train a team of residential care workers.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualised care plans for each resident.
• Ensure adherence to legislation, policies, and quality standards in youth care.
• Conduct staff performance reviews and identify training needs.
• Manage budgets and resources to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Liaise with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to coordinate support.
• Oversee admissions and discharges for smooth transitions.
• Implement safeguarding procedures to protect residents from harm.
• Maintain records and compile reports on facility performance and resident progress.
