Placements24 is seeking a skilled Remote Telecommunications Network Planner to design and upgrade network infrastructure from a fully remote setting in South Africa. You will create detailed network plans, optimize layouts, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in telecommunications network planning, design, or engineering.
• Proficiency with network planning software, GIS tools, and CAD applications.
• Strong understanding of fiber optics, cellular networks (4G/5G), and IP networking.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and remotely from locations such as Polokwane.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan new telecommunications network infrastructure, including fiber optic, wireless, and other connectivity solutions.
• Develop detailed network diagrams, route maps, and technical documentation using specialized planning software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and remote site assessments to determine optimal network layouts.
• Ensure all network plans comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with deployment teams, project managers and stakeholders to implement planned networks.
• Continuously research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance network planning processes.
