Placements24 seeks a detail-oriented Telecom Network Planner based in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will forecast capacity, design expansions, and ensure cost-effective deployment of new technologies across the network.

This hybrid role combines remote strategic planning with on-site collaboration, requiring strong analytics, teamwork, and hands-on experience with fiber, 4G/5G, IP networking, and SD-WAN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in network planning and design within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of network technologies, including fiber optics, wireless (4G/5G), IP networking, and SD-WAN.
• Proficiency in network planning tools and simulation software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a hybrid team.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term and short-term network plans based on traffic forecasts, service demands, and technology evolution.
• Design network architectures, including capacity planning for transmission, access, and core network elements.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and equipment to meet network requirements.
• Create detailed network diagrams, implementation plans, and cost estimates for network projects.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and deployment teams to ensure effective implementation of network plans.
• Analyze network performance data and identify areas for optimization and expansion.
