Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Remote Social Support Specialist to join their fully remote team. You will provide emotional, social, and practical support to individuals and families via phone, video, and messaging, developing personalized plans and referrals.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling, at least 3 years' remote client support experience, and strong empathy with excellent communication and online record-keeping skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of direct social support or counseling experience.
• Experience in remote client interaction and support delivery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong active listening.
• Proficiency with virtual tools (Zoom/Teams) and online record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote counseling and emotional support to clients experiencing distress or hardship.
• Assess clients' social and emotional needs and develop personalized support plans.
• Assist clients in identifying and accessing community resources and social services.
• Facilitate virtual group support sessions for individuals facing similar challenges.
• Offer practical guidance on navigating social welfare, employment, and housing.
• Maintain confidential client records using secure online databases.
• Collaborate with remote professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
• Educate clients on coping strategies and self-care practices.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries via multiple communication channels.
