Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant SOC Analyst to join a fully remote security team. You will monitor alerts from SIEM/IDS/IPS/EDR, investigate incidents, contain threats, and document actions in real time to protect critical systems.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BSc in cybersecurity or IT, 1–2 years SOC experience, knowledge of threat TTPs, strong analytical and communication skills, and a passion for continuous learning in a global security environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in a SOC environment or related cybersecurity role.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools and concepts (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning).
• Understanding of common attack vectors and TTPs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaboration in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR.
• Analyze security incidents to determine scope, cause, and impact.
• Perform initial investigation and containment of threats and breaches.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior analysts and incident response teams.
• Maintain documentation of security events, incidents, and actions taken.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of SOC playbooks and procedures.
