Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled SOC Analyst Tier 2 for a fully remote, 24/7 operations role. You will handle escalated security incidents, conduct investigations, and develop containment and recovery strategies to safeguard client environments.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a cybersecurity-related field, 3+ years in SOC, and strong experience with SIEMs (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight). Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years in a SOC or similar security operations role.
• Experience analyzing security alerts and investigating incidents.
• Strong understanding of networks, protocols and attack vectors.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and common security tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other security tools.
• Analyze escalated incidents, identify root causes and scope of impact.
• Conduct in-depth investigations using forensic and analysis tools.
• Develop containment, eradication, and recovery strategies for incidents.
• Create detailed incident reports with findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Tier 1 analysts, IR teams and stakeholders.
• Contribute to SOC playbooks, detection rules, and procedures.
• Stay updated on threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
• Assist in threat hunting activities as directed.
• Provide guidance to junior SOC analysts.
