Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Cyber Security Analyst to join its SOC team on a fully remote basis. You will monitor alerts, investigate incidents, and respond in real time to protect networks and systems in a distributed environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in a SOC, strong analytical skills, knowledge of networking, and familiarity with SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar. This role offers hands-on growth opportunities within a fast-paced cybersecurity setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in a SOC or similar cybersecurity role.
• Familiarity with common security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) is a plus.
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM/IDS/IPS.
• Investigate potential incidents, gather evidence, and perform initial analysis.
• Respond to incidents per playbooks and escalate as needed.
• Contribute to SOC procedures and incident response playbooks.
• Conduct threat hunting to identify and neutralize threats.
• Prepare reports on security events, trends, and responses.
