Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior SOC Analyst to join a fully remote security team. You will monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats across the organization’s networks and systems, providing real-time threat detection and mitigation in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 4+ years in SOC, proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR, and strong knowledge of TTPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of SOC experience in a Security Operations Center or similar role.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR solutions.
• Strong understanding of attack vectors, malware, and TTPs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work under pressure.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or GIAC are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR to identify threats.
• Analyze incidents, investigate root causes, and recommend containment/eradication actions.
• Develop and refine threat detection rules, correlation logic, and incident response playbooks.
• Perform threat hunting to identify sophisticated threats.
• Document security incidents and provide remediation reports.
• Mentor junior SOC analysts and contribute to SOC process improvements.
