Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Site Safety Officer to oversee health and safety on nationwide construction sites from a fully remote location. You will conduct virtual inspections, review safety documentation, and guide on-site teams using digital tools to ensure OHSA and Construction Regulations compliance.

The role requires a National Diploma in Safety Management and at least 5 years of site safety experience. NEBOSH IGC is desirable.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Safety Management or related field.
• Experience in construction site safety management (5+ years).
• In-depth knowledge of OHSA and Construction Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor remote health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct virtual site inspections using digital evidence.
• Review and approve risk assessments, method statements, and safety files.
• Provide remote guidance to site safety reps and management.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with South African OHSA and Construction Regulations.
• Deliver remote toolbox talks and safety training.
• Maintain digital safety records and documentation.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Foster proactive safety culture through remote communication.
