Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Health and Safety Officer for a fully remote construction environment. You will develop and monitor comprehensive safety programs, conduct virtual inspections, and guide sites to meet regulatory requirements.

You will lead risk assessments, deliver remote safety trainings, and drive continuous improvement across diverse projects from a distributed team in South Africa. Strong communication and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an HSE officer in construction.
• In-depth knowledge of OHS Act and construction regulations.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety procedures.
• Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
• Proficient with virtual collaboration tools and remote training delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety management systems for construction projects.
