Placements24 is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for a fully remote role supporting telecom operations across regions including Nelspruit. You will maintain server health, performance, and security, handling deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to maximize uptime.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in systems administration with Linux/Windows, scripting, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud experience, plus strong networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of systems administration experience, focused on Linux and Windows.
• Proficiency in scripting, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
• Strong networking knowledge and security best practices.
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and enhance server infrastructure (physical and virtual).
• Implement backups, DR plans, and security controls.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize telecom systems.
• Automate tasks using Bash/PowerShell or similar.
• Provide expert troubleshooting for complex system issues.
