Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer for a remote-first role focused on optimizing chemical processes across energy-related operations. The position emphasizes safety, sustainability, and scalable design, with the opportunity to lead process development from concept through implementation.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering, possess at least 8 years of experience, and be proficient in Aspen Plus, HYSYS, and ChemCAD.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on chemical and energy production industries.
• Proven expertise in process simulation and modeling tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience in process design, scale-up, and troubleshooting of industrial chemical processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for energy production and related applications.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, ChemCAD).
• Analyze process data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and yield enhancement.
• Troubleshoot complex process issues and develop practical, data-driven solutions.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure process designs comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote setting.
• Manage process improvement projects from concept to implementation and validation.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and process documentation.
• Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering and sustainable energy practices.
