Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Engineer with a specialization in Process Design for a fully remote role. You will lead the development of PFDs and P&IDs, perform simulations and PHAs, and create equipment specifications for diverse chemical plant projects.

You will collaborate with project managers and engineering teams across locations, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance throughout FEED and detailed design phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in chemical process design and engineering.
• Proficiency with process simulation tools (Aspen Plus, HYSYS or similar).
• Solid understanding of API, ASME codes and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process simulations, mass and energy balances, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and ensure safety is integrated into designs.
• Develop technical specifications for process equipment and instrumentation.
• Review and approve design documents prepared by internal teams and external consultants.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, remotely.
