Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their fully remote global security operations team. This role requires strategic thinking and deep technical expertise to design, implement, and manage advanced security solutions from anywhere in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity engineering and operations.
• Expertise in network security, endpoint security, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with security technologies in large-scale enterprise environments, including cloud platforms.
• Strong scripting and automation skills for security tasks.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
• Lead incident response activities and perform forensic analysis.
• Architect and implement cloud security best practices for AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and automate security processes using Python or PowerShell.
• Provide guidance to development and infrastructure teams and mentor junior engineers.
