Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer with a specialization in Facilities Optimization to join a fully remote team in South Africa. You will evaluate and enhance layouts, workflows, and efficiency across locations using simulation software and CAD tools.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial engineering, strong data analysis, ergonomic design, and ability to communicate with stakeholders remotely. Autonomous work from a remote location is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with focus on facility design and layout optimization.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and industrial simulation software (Arena, AnyLogic).
• Solid understanding of material handling systems, ergonomics, and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing facility layouts, material handling systems, and operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Develop optimized facility designs and material flow strategies using simulation software and CAD tools.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement solutions to improve worker safety and productivity.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements for warehouse operations, production line balancing, and space utilization.
• Develop business cases for proposed facility modifications, including cost-benefit analyses and ROI calculations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, safety, and IT, to implement approved facility changes.
• Establish performance metrics for facility operations and monitor progress towards optimization goals.
• Research and stay updated on industry best practices in facility design, material handling, and industrial engineering.
