Placements24 is seeking a Senior Genomics Scientist for a fully remote position. You will lead genomics and bioinformatics projects, analyze large-scale datasets, and develop computational pipelines. Work from your home office with a remote-first culture and distributed teams.

You will collaborate with clinical researchers, publish findings, mentor junior scientists, and stay abreast of evolving genomics tools. The role requires a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral experience in genomics research.
• Expertise in analyzing large-scale genomic datasets using established bioinformatics tools and pipelines (GATK, Samtools, PLINK).

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct advanced research projects in genomics and bioinformatics.
• Analyze large-scale genomic datasets, including WGS, exome, and SNP arrays.
• Develop and implement novel computational pipelines for genomic data analysis and interpretation.
• Identify and characterize genetic variants associated with specific diseases or phenotypes.
• Collaborate with clinical researchers to translate findings into actionable insights.
• Design and execute experiments for genomic validation (PCR, genotyping).
• Author high-quality publications and present research findings at conferences.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to scientific development.
• Stay abreast of advancements in genomics technologies and tools.
• Contribute to grant proposals and new research directions.
• Ensure data integrity, quality control, and ethical compliance.
• Manage multiple research projects with timely delivery.
