Placements24 is seeking a Senior Event Catering Coordinator to manage remote national catering projects with a primary focus on Cape Town, Western Cape. You will liaise between clients, culinary teams, and vendors to plan and execute exceptional catering experiences from inquiry to post-event follow-up.

The role requires strong organization, proactive communication, and deep knowledge of catering operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in event planning, catering coordination, or related hospitality role.
• Ability to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality results in a remote setting.
• Excellent understanding of catering operations, menu planning, and event logistics.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple client accounts and event details, ensuring catering requirements are met with precision and creativity.
• Serve as the primary client liaison, advising on menu selections, service styles, and logistics.
• Coordinate with culinary production to translate client visions into feasible catering solutions.
• Liaise with venues, suppliers, and vendors to confirm bookings and deliveries for smooth event flow.
• Develop detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and production schedules for stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during planning or execution phases.
• Manage contracts, invoicing, and payment schedules in line with company policies.
• Conduct virtual client consultations and menu tastings where applicable.
• Maintain client records and event documentation in CRM/project management tools.
• Provide feedback to culinary and operations teams on client satisfaction and improvements.
