Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior E-commerce Analyst for a fully remote role based in Soweto, Gauteng, SA. You will drive data-informed decisions across marketing, sales, UX and conversion rate optimization, collecting and interpreting large data sets to identify trends and opportunities.

The ideal candidate holds a quantitative degree, 5+ years in e-commerce analytics, and strong skills in GA, SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI, with experience in A/B testing and data visualization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science)
• Minimum of 5 years in e-commerce analytics or related data analysis roles
• Proficiency with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills (SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI)
• Excellent understanding of statistical methods and modeling techniques
• Experience with A/B testing methodologies and tools
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple e-commerce platforms and sources
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs for e-commerce operations
• Analyze website traffic, user behavior, conversion funnels, and sales data
• Identify trends and translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations
• Perform A/B and multivariate testing to optimize website elements and campaigns
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to support data needs
• Develop predictive models to forecast sales and customer behavior
• Present findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels
• Stay updated with industry best practices in e-commerce analytics and data science
• Automate reporting processes and improve data collection methods
