About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Remote Senior Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team, working from any location in South Africa . This critical role involves accurately assessing the costs of construction projects, from initial bids to final project proposals. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring competitive bidding and profitable project execution. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong mathematical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of construction methods and pricing across various project types, contributing directly to the company's success through precise and timely estimations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
• Quantify and price materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs for various construction projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and reliable quotes.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and tender submissions, ensuring all requirements are met.
• Analyze historical cost data and market trends to refine estimating methods and improve accuracy.
• Collaborate with project managers and bid teams to ensure estimates align with project scope and company objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, with a significant portion in a senior capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry pricing standards.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, Accubid) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical documents.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present estimates clearly and confidently.
• Experience working remotely and managing projects independently is essential.
