Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join a remote, distributed team across South Africa. The role requires a Pr Eng with ECSA and a minimum of 10 years in civil design, overseeing complex infrastructure projects from concept to completion.

You will lead site development, drainage and utility design, develop technical drawings and ensure compliance with codes while mentoring junior staff. A strong remote collaboration capability is essential for success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA required.
10+ years of progressive civil engineering design experience.
Experience managing complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Lead civil design across infrastructure projects including site development, drainage and utilities.
Develop and review drawings, calculations and technical specifications.
Perform site analysis, grading and earthwork calculations using CAD/modelling software.
Ensure compliance with local, provincial and national codes and standards.
Manage project scope, timelines and budgets; deliver milestones on time.
Mentor junior engineers and designers; conduct design QC reviews.
