Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Aviation Safety Officer to lead the company’s safety strategy. This fully remote role will leverage your expertise to develop and oversee the Safety Management System (SMS) across a globally distributed team.

You will conduct risk assessments, lead audits and investigations, and drive continuous improvement to minimize hazards and enhance operational safety. Strong regulatory knowledge and training delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in aviation safety with senior-level exposure.
• Deep knowledge of SMS, risk management principles and SACAA/ICAO regs.
• Proven experience in audits, investigations, and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the SMS compliant with regs.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and determine root causes with corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training across all personnel levels.
• Monitor safety performance and report to senior management.
• Liaise with regulators like SACAA on safety matters.
