Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Aviation Safety Officer to lead and oversee our Safety Management System (SMS) across operations from anywhere. You will conduct audits, risk assessments, investigations, and safety trainings; drive continuous improvement; ensure compliance with SACAA, ICAO standards, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aviation Management, Safety Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 6 years in aviation safety management, regulatory or compliance roles.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Strong knowledge of SACAA/ICAO regulations and accident investigation principles.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills; able to work autonomously remotely.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the organization's SMS in line with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across operations, maintenance and training.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training, communication and engagement.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends and prepare safety performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with national and international aviation safety regulations.
