Job summary
Placements24 seeks an experienced Aviation Safety Manager to lead and enhance the Safety Management System across operations. This fully remote role demands strategic leadership and proactive risk mitigation to uphold the highest safety standards.
You will collaborate with senior management, regulators, and operational teams to champion safety initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and shape safety policies from a remote vantage point.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of aviation safety management experience with leadership
- Extensive knowledge of ICAO Annex 19 and SA-CAA regulations
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and leadership at all levels
- CSP or SMS Certification are desirable
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the SMS
- Lead safety investigations and analyze incident data
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments
- Promote a positive safety culture through training and leadership
- Serve as primary contact for regulatory authorities on safety matters
- Develop and manage the aviation safety budget and resources
