Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team. The role centers on embedding security into the SDLC and guiding developers to build secure software from the ground up.

You will conduct security reviews, propagate best practices, and integrate security testing into CI/CD, while collaborating with remote teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and respond to incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Cybersecurity.
• 5+ years in application security or related security role.
• Strong OWASP Top 10 understanding and secure coding principles.
• Experience with SAST/DAST tools and vulnerability scanners.
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting; cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure).
• Excellent remote collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security code reviews and SAST/DAST for web and mobile apps.
• Develop and maintain security guidelines, best practices, and training for developers.
• Integrate security tools into CI/CD pipeline to automate security testing.
• Collaborate with development teams to design secure application architectures and address vulnerabilities.
• Perform threat modeling for new features and applications to proactively identify risks.
• Respond to security incidents related to applications and assist in remediation.
