Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Accountant specialized in Financial Reporting for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will lead IFRS-based reporting, oversee the close process, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

With a focus on accuracy and timely deliverables, you will mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements while working from anywhere in SA. Strong self-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and professional qualifications (CA(SA), ACCA or CIMA) preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in financial accounting with strong reporting focus.
• Proficiency in IFRS and SA statutory reporting, plus ERP systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports per IFRS.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements and policies.
• Perform complex reconciliations and manage the close process to deadlines.
• Develop, implement and maintain internal controls over assets and information.
• Support audits and liaise with auditors; contribute to policy improvements.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative remote team environment.
