Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a fully remote-first role within South Africa. You will manage IFRS reporting, the general ledger, and oversight of AP/AR while guiding budgeting and tax compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in financial accounting, strong IFRS knowledge, and proficiency with SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks. Remote collaboration and independent work are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA qualification desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and experience with financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all transactions.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on performance.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting and provide financial insights.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide documentation.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting functions.
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
