Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join a fully remote finance team. The role focuses on IFRS-compliant financial reporting, overseeing the general ledger, and guiding year-end closes across global entities from within South Africa.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting experience, strong IFRS expertise, SA tax knowledge, and proficiency in SAP/Oracle with advanced Excel. Excellent communication and remote-work discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• CA(SA), ACCA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years in accounting, with senior financial accounting experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and SA tax law familiarity.
• Experience with SAP/Oracle ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and analysis of IFRS-compliant financial statements and local statutory reports.
• Oversee ledger activities ensuring accuracy and completeness of transactions.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing with attention to detail.
• Develop internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide insights to senior management.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
