Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a remote role across South Africa. You will oversee all financial accounting, ensure IFRS-compliant reporting, and support strategic financial decision-making.

The ideal candidate has a CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA advantage, 5+ years of experience, and strong IFRS knowledge, with excellent communication and self-management in a remote setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA are advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting.
• Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and SA accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Stable internet and dedicated home office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial accounting including AP, AR, GL, and payroll.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS reports.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to inform decisions.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Develop internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Collaborate with external auditors during audits.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
• Improve accounting systems and processes for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filings.
