Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a fully remote, permanent position within South Africa. You will ensure IFRS-compliant financial reporting, manage the general ledger, and support budgeting/forecasting while driving process improvements in a remote-first environment.

The ideal candidate will have a CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA (advantageous) and at least 5 years of progressive financial accounting experience, with strong analytical and communication skills and proficiency in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and SA accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely recording of transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts.
• Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
• Assist with external audits and provide documentation and explanations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
