Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Chemical Process Engineer to lead scale-up from lab to full production. You will design processes, specify equipment, and perform HAZOPs while collaborating with R&D, engineering and manufacturing teams in a fully remote setting.

The role requires a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, 7+ years of scale-up experience, and strong proficiency in Aspen Plus/HYSYS and CAD tools. Remote work offers flexible hours and global collaboration opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering with scale-up.
• Proven track record in scaling up complex chemical processes.
• Experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of unit operations, reaction engineering, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and HAZOP.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, adept at remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer scale-up processes from bench to commercial production.
• Create PFDs, P&IDs, and perform mass and energy balances.
• Specify equipment like reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, separation units.
• Conduct risk assessments and HAZOP studies.
• Troubleshoot scale-up issues and identify root causes.
• Collaborate virtually with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Support commissioning and startup of new facilities or modifications.
