Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Development Engineer to spearhead the creation and scaling of novel chemical processes remotely. You will guide projects from laboratory concepts through pilot stages to commercial production, collaborating with R&D and operations while maintaining rigorous documentation.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering with 6+ years in process development and scale-up, and is proficient in Aspen Plus, gPROMS, and data analytics.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on process development and scale-up experience in chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with process design, experiments, data analysis and modeling.
• Proficiency with process simulation software and statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new chemical processes and scale them from lab to pilot and production.
• Conduct lab experiments and pilot plant trials to optimize parameters and yields.
• Perform simulations and modeling to predict performance and identify issues.
• Analyze data and generate technical reports; collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations.
• Develop process descriptions, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
