Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Risk Analyst to bolster our capabilities from anywhere within South Africa. You will identify, assess, and mitigate risks across operations and product lines, supporting strategic decisions in a remote-first environment.

The role requires a master's degree in a quantitative field and 5+ years in risk analysis or related areas, with proficiency in R, Python, or SAS. Collaboration with finance and underwriting is essential.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in risk analysis, financial modeling, or actuarial science in insurance/financial services.
Proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, SAS) and data visualization.
Strong understanding of financial markets, regulations, and risk management principles.

Responsibilities

Analyze large datasets to identify risks, trends, and potential financial exposure.
Develop risk management frameworks, models, and mitigation strategies.
Monitor KRIs and prepare reports for senior management and committees.
Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing for resilience.
Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance to embed risk principles.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices in risk management.
