Placements24 is seeking an ambitious Renewable Energy Project Developer to identify, evaluate, and secure new development opportunities for solar and wind projects in the Eastern Cape, based out of Queenstown. This hybrid role supports site visits and remote collaboration.

You will manage early development stages—from site assessment and feasibility studies to securing permits and negotiating agreements—within a hybrid work model that enables engagement with local stakeholders and internal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in project development, with a strong focus on renewable energy (solar and wind).
• Proven track record in securing permits, negotiating contracts, and developing successful renewable energy projects.
• Strong understanding of the South African energy market and regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential sites for new solar and wind energy projects, conducting feasibility studies and due diligence.
• Secure land rights, grid connection agreements, and necessary permits and approvals.
• Develop project economics, financial models, and business cases to support investment decisions.
• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, community stakeholders, government agencies, and industry partners.
• Prepare and present project proposals and development plans to internal decision-makers and external parties in Queenstown.
