Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join our client’s team on a fully remote basis. You will develop, implement, and manage robust process safety management programs across chemical facilities worldwide.

The role requires 7+ years in process safety within chemical/petrochemical industries, strong PHA expertise (HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA), and the ability to lead risk assessments and safety training while driving compliance and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years in process safety engineering within chemical/petrochemical industries.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements and PHA methodologies.
• Familiarity with process safety software and risk assessment tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction hazards, flammable materials, and hazardous waste management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in developing technical reports and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety-related events; track corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM and Seveso directives.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to engineers, operators, and management.
• Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Review engineering designs and operating procedures for safety compliance.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits and assessments of facilities.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
