Placements24 is recruiting a highly experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety protocols across our global chemical operations. The role is fully remote, enabling you to contribute from your home office while leading PHAs, incident investigations and PSM program development.

You will work with engineering and operations teams worldwide to maintain regulatory compliance, deliver training, and drive best practices in process safety management.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of process safety engineering experience in chemical industry
• Experience with PHAs (HAZOP, What-If, FMEA) and PSM elements
• Knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP or equivalent
• Incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
• Excellent communication and ability to influence stakeholders remotely
• Proficiency with safety management software and databases

About the Role

Our client, a global leader in chemical manufacturing, is seeking a highly experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to enhance their safety protocols and compliance across all operations. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from the comfort of your home office. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our chemical processes, conducting risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Your responsibilities will include managing process hazard analyses (PHAs), incident investigations, and implementing best practices in process safety management (PSM). This role requires a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, safety regulations, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams worldwide to foster a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, What-If, and FMEA studies.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop, review, and update Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP) and industry standards.
• Conduct safety audits and gap assessments of existing processes and facilities.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety matters to engineering and operational teams.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in process safety.
• Maintain process safety documentation and records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience focused specifically on process safety engineering in the chemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various PHA methodologies.
• Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) elements and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders remotely.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and databases.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote environment.
