Placements24 is seeking a Remote Process Optimization Engineer in South Africa to analyze and improve the efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness of chemical manufacturing processes from a remote setup, with Mossel Bay as a key operating hub.

You will leverage advanced data analytics and process simulation tools, collaborate virtually with on-site teams, and deliver technical reports and KPI dashboards while enjoying flexible hours, training resources, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in process engineering with a focus on optimization and data analysis.
Experience with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) and data analysis tools (Python, R, MATLAB).
Ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote environment.
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent virtual communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed analysis of plant operational data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
Develop and utilize process simulation models to test strategies and predict outcomes.
Collaborate with on-site teams via virtual channels to implement solutions.
Prepare technical reports and presentations outlining findings and impact of improvements.
Stay updated on advancements in process optimization techniques and technologies.
Support development and refinement of KPI dashboards and monitoring systems.
