Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Remote Process Optimization Engineer to join our client's expanding team from anywhere in South Africa. This role focuses on boosting efficiency and sustainability of chemical manufacturing through data analysis, simulation, and advanced control strategies.
You will identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and drive operational performance while collaborating virtually with on-site teams.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years in process engineering with emphasis on optimization and control.
- Experience with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, Pro/II) and statistical tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and industrial automation is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Analyze process data to identify efficiency, throughput, and resource bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement optimization strategies using process modeling and simulation.
- Design and test APC systems to improve stability and performance.
- Collaborate virtually with on-site teams to troubleshoot and implement changes.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to management.
- Stay abreast of new technologies in process optimization and chemical engineering.
