Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Chemical Engineer specializing in process optimization. The role involves leveraging advanced analytics and modeling to drive improvements in efficiency, yield, and cost across global chemical manufacturing operations.

You'll lead virtual teams, diagnose issues remotely, and implement best practices from Vereeniging with a focus on advanced control and optimization.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering with emphasis on process systems engineering and optimization.
• 10+ years in chemical process engineering with proven optimization track record.
• Expertise in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analytics tools (Python, R, MATLAB).
• Strong understanding of SPC, DOE, and modeling techniques.
• Excellent virtual collaboration and remote influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of plant data to identify KPIs and improvement areas.
• Develop and implement advanced control strategies and optimization models.
• Lead virtual teams in diagnosing and resolving complex issues remotely with data analytics and simulations.
• Provide expert guidance on process scale-up, debottlenecking, and technology for global sites.
• Develop and deliver training on best practices in process optimization and advanced control to site engineers.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in process engineering and automation.
