Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Remote Process Engineer to join their distributed team, working primarily from home with occasional travel to South Africa sites.

You will optimize chemical processes using simulation tools, provide remote support to plant operations, and document improvements. The role requires 5+ years in process engineering, a chemical engineering degree, and excellent remote communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably with remote support or distributed teams.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of chemical unit operations and process control.
• Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze process data and performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities.
• Model and test process modifications using Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus.
• Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting to plant operations teams.
• Develop and document process improvements, SOPs, and best practices.
• Collaborate with site engineers, operators, and management via virtual channels.
• Participate in remote process safety reviews and risk assessments.
