Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Process Engineer to support Richards Bay operations on a remote basis. You will optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and ensure product quality using advanced engineering methods while collaborating with on-site teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of process engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably chemicals or heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering within the manufacturing sector, preferably in chemicals or heavy industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of SPC and lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent remote collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and drive change effectively.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
• Design, develop, and implement new processes or modifications to existing ones using process simulation and modeling tools.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate process changes and measure their impact.
• Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and control strategies.
• Troubleshoot process issues remotely, collaborating with on-site technicians and engineers to implement solutions.
• Stay current with new manufacturing technologies and best practices, recommending adoption where appropriate.
